The Trust Slider — Stake on the People You Believe In

Long-press any message to rate the sender's trust on a 1–100 slider. In DM chats the slider appears once — a one-time trust signal. In community, event, group, and organization chats, ratings are continuous: your latest rating overwrites previous ones as trust evolves. Every first-time rating earns the rater 1,000 DSP. What happens next depends on where the slider lands.

Score 1–10 — No Trust (Staked Against)

You're actively betting against this person's trust. Your 1,000 DSP is staked as collateral. You earn rewards if others agree, and burn your stake if the community defends them.

Score 11–90 — Standard Trust (Free Signal)

A neutral interaction rating. Earn your 1,000 DSP and keep it free and clear. No collateral locked, no ongoing risk. Has zero impact on existing stakers.

Score 91–100 — Full Trust (Staked For)

You're publicly backing this person. Your 1,000 DSP is staked. You earn rewards when the community agrees, and burn stake when they vote No Trust.

Why Stake? Passive DSP From Being Right Early

When you full-trust someone, every future rater on the same person moves your stake. If you correctly identified a high-trust person before the crowd, you earn DSP every time the community agrees with you. If you backed the wrong person, your stake bleeds out — and eventually your vouch is auto-removed. The slider becomes a prediction market on character.

Stake Combat: 100 DSP

Stakers battle over the user's true trust. A new "Full Trust" vote rewards existing Full Trust stakers 100 DSP and penalizes No Trust stakers 100 DSP. A new "No Trust" vote does the exact opposite.

Stake Hits Zero → Vouch Removed

If opposing votes drain your stake to 0, the protocol automatically removes your vouch. The community has spoken: you were wrong about this person. The 1,000 DSP is gone.

Net PCT Impact

PCT scores automatically cancel out. Every 10 Net Vouches (Full Trust minus No Trust) earns the user 1 PCT. Every 10 Negative Net Vouches costs them 1 PCT.

Exit Anytime — Stake Refunded

Change your mind? Slide your rating back to Standard Trust (11-90). Any DSP still left in your stake is refunded immediately. You're never trapped — but every day you stay staked, you're either earning or bleeding.

Why You Should Actually Use It

Most "vouch" systems are theater — cheap to give, meaningless to receive. The Trust Slider is different because it costs you to be wrong. That's exactly what makes a full-trust rating worth something to the person receiving it, and what makes your PCT score worth something to the wider economy.

  • Find the high-trust people first. The earlier you full-trust someone who turns out to be widely respected, the more 100 DSP payments you collect as the crowd catches up. There's no cap.
  • Associate with integrity. Your active stakes are public signal. Staking on credible people compounds your own trust; staking on bad actors burns you publicly.
  • It's the cheapest path to maximum TDE efficiency. Sustained full-trust ratings feed your PCT score (1 PCT per 10 full-trust ratings, ongoing). Higher PCT = higher $DIASPORA conversion at every Token Distribution Event.
  • You're not trapped. Slide below 91 and the remaining stake comes home. The only way to actually lose your DSP is to keep doubling down on someone the community is steadily rejecting.

Collective Protection for Our Diaspora Community

Built on the African principle of Ubuntu — "I am because we are." A member-funded collective safety net ensuring no diaspora member ever faces a crisis alone, no matter where they are in the world.

How It Works & Governance

Members contribute $100 in $DIASPORA annually, sent directly to the fund treasury on-chain and fully transparent. The Ubuntu Emergency Fund is managed by the elected Community Secretaries of the member's dual geographic identity (home/host town and home/host country).

Standard Tier (Up to $1,000) Instant and standard assistance review for urgent micro-emergencies and local member support.
Fast-Track (Up to $50,000) When a local user requests emergency support, their host town secretary and host country secretary can quickly authorize and disburse up to $50,000 within 24 hours.
Community Vote (> $50,000) Disbursements exceeding $50,000 require a democratic community vote of 10 full trust score members (91+ PCT) with >50% majority (51%+) approval within 48 hours.
